Musician-turned-entrepreneur Henry Ssentamu, popularly known as Banjo Man, has revealed why he walked away from the music scene and turned his focus to business.

Banjo Man, who was a key member of his brother’s Firebase crew, spent nearly a decade in the music industry, building a name for himself with his unique sound and energetic performances. Yet, despite his talent and dedication, he admitted in a recent interview that his music career left him financially strained.

“I was struggling. I wasn’t getting enough bookings to sustain myself, and there were times I literally had to ask for money just to get by,” Banjo Man said. He credited fellow musician Lil Pazo as one of the few people who supported him financially during those tough times, noting that Lil Pazo was juggling personal jobs on the side to help him out.

Realizing that music was no longer a reliable source of income, Banjo Man made the bold decision to step away and explore other avenues. He turned his attention to real estate, a move that has since transformed his life. Through smart investments and strategic business decisions, he has built a thriving real estate empire, earning him both financial stability and newfound respect in the business world.

Reflecting on his journey, Banjo Man described the shift as both necessary and life changing. “Music gave me a platform, but real estate gave me a future. It taught me the value of planning, patience, and investment,” he said.

Today, Banjo Man continues to inspire both artists and aspiring entrepreneurs, proving that sometimes, stepping away from your passion temporarily can open doors to unexpected success.
