Uganda has once again captured international attention for its breathtaking landscapes and commitment to sustainable tourism. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has been ranked the third-best adventure destination in the world at the TOURISE Global Tourism Awards held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The ranking cements Uganda’s position as one of the world’s leading adventure destinations, celebrated for its stunning scenery, rich biodiversity, and community-driven conservation efforts. Bwindi’s recognition places Uganda alongside renowned global icons such as Ancash in Peru, which took first place, and the Galápagos Islands in Ecuador, which came second.

Speaking at the ceremony, Professor James Kalema, Chairman of the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) Board of Trustees, said the accolade affirms Uganda’s status as a global leader in conservation and adventure tourism.

Bwindi not only offers extraordinary adventure experiences like gorilla trekking and forest exploration, but also demonstrates how protecting nature can empower local communities while sustaining national development, solidifying Uganda’s reputation as a must-visit destination for eco-tourists and adventure enthusiasts alike.
