King David Junior School Director Tadeo Ssekade Laid to Rest in Bukomansimbi

The late Tadeo Ssekade, the founder and director of King David Junior School, Ndejje, was laid to rest today at his ancestral home in Bukomansimbi District, amid grief and emotional tributes from family, friends, education stakeholders, parents, and members of the public.

Ssekade was among the victims of the tragic school bus accident in Chekwatit Village, Kapchorwa District, which claimed the lives of pupils, teachers, and school staff, sending shockwaves across the country.

Hundreds of mourners gathered to bid farewell to the veteran educationist, who was remembered as a dedicated leader and passionate advocate for quality education. Speakers at the burial described him as a father figure who devoted his life to shaping young minds and building an institution that touched the lives of many families.

The tragic loss of Ssekade has left a significant gap in Uganda’s education sector, with many paying tribute to his commitment, humility, and unwavering dedication to learners. His death, alongside that of pupils and staff from the school, has also reignited national conversations on road safety and the need for stricter measures to protect children during school trips.

As he was laid to rest in Bukomansimbi, mourners celebrated a life dedicated to service, education, and the empowerment of future generations, noting that his legacy will continue through the thousands of learners whose lives he impacted.
