Life Behind Bars: Nobat Events Opens Up About Luzira Prison Experience

Ugandan music promoter and event organiser Nobat Events has shared a rare and honest reflection on life inside Luzira Prison, describing it as a world completely different from life in freedom.

According to Nobat, prison life is undeniably hard, but once inside, everything changes. He explains that while freedom is taken away, life in prison becomes simple and structured, helping inmates adjust with time. Contrary to the fear many people have, he says Luzira is not as bad as it is often portrayed, but rather a place focused on reform, discipline, and personal transformation.

Nobat emphasized that prison plays a major role in reshaping individuals, giving them time to reflect, learn, and rebuild themselves into better people.

He also took time to appreciate socialite Bryan White for the positive impact he made at Luzira Prison. Bryan White donated television sets to every ward, a move Nobat says brought a big change to inmates’ lives. The TVs helped keep prisoners informed, connected to the outside world, and mentally engaged, greatly improving their daily lives.
