Red Banton Says Mowzey Radio Appears to Him in Dreams, Asking for Final Funeral Rites
Veteran singer Red Banton has made a startling revelation, claiming that the late music legend Mowzey Radio frequently appears to him in dreams, urging him to push for the performance of his final funeral rites (okwabya olumbe) a traditional ceremony meant to honor the deceased and bring closure to their spirit.
According to Red Banton, it has been seven years since Mowzey Radio’s death, yet the ceremony has never been conducted. He disclosed that in these dreams, the late Goodlyf star pleads for peace, saying he cannot rest until the rites are properly held.

“Radio appears to me in dreams almost every year, asking me to remind his family and the music industry to organize his final funeral rites,” Red Banton shared during a recent interview. “One time, he even appeared in Makindye driving a GMC car and handed me a song, telling me to record it in his memory.”
The “Noonya Money” singer further urged Radio’s baby mama, Lillian Mbabazi, together with the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), to take the responsibility of organizing the long-overdue ceremony. He emphasized that Radio’s spirit deserves respect and closure, given his unmatched contribution to Uganda’s music industry.
“Lillian Mbabazi and the UNMF should come together and organize this event. Radio was a legend, and his soul should be at peace,” Banton added.

Mowzey Radio, real name Moses Nakintije Ssekibogo, died in February 2018 after sustaining injuries from a bar altercation in Entebbe. He was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kagga, Nakawuka, Wakiso District.

However, according to Weasel, his music partner and surviving half of the Goodlyf duo, the traditional rites have never been performed something many close to the late star now believe could be contributing to the recurring claims of his spirit’s unrest.
Fans have since taken to social media to express mixed reactions, with some calling for the ceremony to be held, while others question Red Banton’s claims.
Regardless, one thing remains clear Mowzey Radio’s legacy continues to echo through dreams, memories, and music.
