Supporting the Girl Child Starts with Raising Responsible Boys: The Man In Me Partners with Rotary Club of Kampala 7 Hills
Empowering the girl child is one of the most important investments a community can make. Equally important, however, is raising boys who respect, protect, and champion the rights, dignity, and aspirations of girls. This shared vision is at the heart of the partnership between the Rotary Club of Kampala 7 Hills and The Man In Me through the FLOW – Fostering Learning, Opportunity and Wellness initiative.
Launched at Kololo Senior Secondary School, FLOW is designed to empower both girls and boys by addressing the social, educational, and personal challenges that affect their growth and success.
Through this partnership, The Man In Me will lead mentorship programmes that inspire boys to become men of integrity, responsibility, and purpose. Participants will engage in conversations around positive masculinity, respect for women and girls, emotional intelligence, mental wellness, leadership, healthy relationships, personal discipline, and life purpose.
The programme recognizes that creating safe and supportive environments for girls requires the active involvement of boys. By nurturing young men with strong values and character, we are building a generation that values equality, rejects gender-based violence, and becomes an ally in advancing opportunities for girls.
Alongside mentorship for boys, FLOW continues to support girls through menstrual health education, reusable sanitary pads provided in partnership with AfriPads, leadership development, life skills education, sports, and wellness programmes that enable every learner to thrive.
Together, the Rotary Club of Kampala 7 Hills and The Man In Me are demonstrating that empowering girls and mentoring boys are not separate missions they are complementary investments in stronger families, healthier schools, and more resilient communities.
When boys grow into responsible men and girls are empowered to achieve their full potential, entire communities flourish.
